Vic Mignogna was the very first voice actor I ever met. It was in Banzaicon (South Carolina), I'm a very reclusive person, so talking to anyone is very tough. I've never met any kind of celebrity before, so I was nervous at first. He geniuinely looked so happy to meet everyone, and all of the interactions between fans were mutual. The guy was just beaming with positive energy. When it was my turn to meet him, Vic was SUPER nice, my nervousness just disappeared like that! He signed my con badge and I got to have a picture taken with him holding a little Keldeo figure. I'd love to meet him again, and I'm glad he was the first VA to meet. I'm rooting for you, Vic!
I met Vic Mignogna at Anime Matsuri at what had to be a very stressful point in his life. He didn't let that show, however, and treated his fans like every single person mattered. He spent around 5 minutes or more with almost everyone, was high energy throughout, and he encouraged people to be kind and love one another. His panels were amazing as well - I ended up recording those and Vic gave us access to showcase this as intimately as possible. That meant close angles. Being around. And it never once bothered him. In fact, he wishes me a Happy Fathers Day at the panel when he didn't have to, and I appreciate it. I recorded the entire event - each day - and the droves of people this man inspired, and it was an amazing experience. Seeing people come together because of their love for something and being rewarded for it.
Dear Vic,
Until a few months ago I had no clue who you were. A friend of mine started talking about you and I was confused, I ended up looking you up and learned that despite me watching shows that you are in (FMAL, RWBY) I'd never noticed how much of an amazing person you are. Your words on God are so sweet and beautiful and provide hope for me. I regret not knowing who you are before, I already feel changed just from watching you speak about God and it makes watching you voice some of my favorite characters all the more special. Please, keep preaching the words of God and providing quality voice acting to the industry. God bless. Typically, I'm not a fan of well known people as I work under the assumption that notoriety makes people arrogant. Upon my observations of Vic Mignogna over the last several months and meeting him in person, however, he has earned my respect as someone worthy of admiration. Vic is a brutally honest and hard worker. I can tell he gives his all to nearly everything he does. He is quick witted, sings very well, and is a great entertainer in general. He is an excellent actor and voice actor. But more importantly to me, he's an excellent human being. Nobody is perfect, Vic included. But he knows it and celebrates his fans rather than himself. He was kind and courteous to me and everyone I saw him interact with at Anime Matsuri, and I'd love to go see him again. God bless you Vic, and you all as well. All the best, BPM
I never thought I would be able to meet Vic in person. I would watch panels on YouTube and wish to be there. When I found out I was going to Matsuri, I was excited, nervous, confused, but overall happy I went to work on an art piece for him ASAP, as a thank you for everything he has done for me and his fans. When days got rough I continued drawing, looking forward to the day I would him my thank you I would watch his live-streams on UnLocked and would think to myself, “I can’t believe he’s still going on strong. Still smiling and not giving up. I want to be as strong as him one day” Seeing him interacting with his fans, laughing and singing was an adventure in itself, my excitement for Matsuri growing by the day When the 15th of June came, in line for his signing with my now dear friends, he walked up to the line asking how everyone was doing. He walked towards me, put his hand on my shoulder, and told me that he liked my Fullmetal Alchemist jacket. All I could say was thank you, excitement and anxiety boiling in my stomach. As time went by, still star struck from earlier, my anxiety was growing as the line moved closer to the tables. When it was my turn, everything around me paused. It was just me, him and the table. I introduced myself and when I told him I was from his live-streams he lit up like a star. “I can’t believe he remembered me” I thought I proceeded to give him my art, explaining it was my thank you gift to him, and the first thing he said was “Sweetheart, that must’ve taken you a long time”. My heart exploded with joy. I didn’t think he would enjoy it, so when I saw his reaction, I felt like I accomplished the biggest goal in my life This picture, posing with Vic himself, is one of the greatest moments in my life. I asked him if he could do this pose with me and he agreed. What people say about his hugs are true: they are the best. Thank you Vic for making Matsuri the best weekend of my life. This is something I will NEVER forget.
